Clinical significance
Interleukin 8 (CXCL8) - a chemokine of the CXC group. It is a mediator of inflammation and is the most potent attractor of neutrophils. Interleukin 8 increases phagocytosis and bacteriobóic properties of neutrophils. CXCL8 is produced by monocytes and macrophages.
