What is private healthcare?

Private healthcare refers to services provided by private medical facilities operating on a subscription basis. Payments can be made in a lump sum, once a year, or in installments, monthly. Patients using private healthcare have quicker access to specialists and diagnostic tests. This allows them to avoid long queues and receive medical assistance at a convenient time. 
Private medical packages cover a wide range of services, from medical consultations and laboratory and imaging tests to surgical procedures and rehabilitation. An important element of this form of care is also the possibility to consult various specialists who are often unavailable within the public health system. 

Types of medical packages

Individual medical packages vary in the range of services, type of product, and target group. Packages are available for individuals, families, and children. Each package varies in price, allowing flexible adaptation to the patient’s budget.
Basic packages offer the care of 10 specialists and a basic range of tests, suitable for those seeking primary healthcare. 
Standard packages include a broader range of specialist and diagnostic services, offering care from 22 doctors. These are aimed at individuals with more demanding health needs. Among them are also dental packages that offer regular check-ups, hygiene procedures, aesthetic treatments, and orthodontic corrections.
Maximum packages offer care from up to 35 doctors and extended laboratory diagnostics.
Among the standard and maximum options, there are also packages exclusively for children, which, depending on the package, include care from doctors such as pediatricians, family doctors, orthopedists, or ENT specialists, vaccinations, and basic laboratory diagnostics.

How much does private healthcare cost?

The cost of private healthcare depends on the selected package - ranging from PLN 750 to PLN 5454.00 and can be paid in three different ways:
• 12-month package - one-time payment for the entire year in advance with the possibility of spreading the payment into monthly installments,
• Dental package - one-time payment for the entire year in advance,
• Prepaid cards - by prepaying a certain amount, you can use the services included in the package at a specific Medical Center.

Which medical subscription should you choose?
First of all, check what medical services are covered by the given subscription. It is also important to check if the package includes outpatient procedures, diagnostic tests, home visits, or hospital treatment and what their scope is. Another important aspect is the availability of medical facilities and the possibility of using services throughout Poland.
How to choose a package to suit your needs?
Before choosing a medical subscription, it is worth defining your health needs precisely. If frequent visits to specialists are required, it is worth choosing a package that includes a broader range of medical consultations. Older people may need a package that includes home visits and hospital treatment. On the other hand, young people might prefer a subscription that offers a wide range of preventive tests.
