The mugwort test is an allergy test from the
blood. Mugwort allergy testing refers to the allergen Artemisia
vulgaris.
The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is
performed when an allergy to mugwort is suspected. The advantage of
of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines
antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used
also for qualification for desensitization of pollen allergy to
mugwort.
It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children
under the age of 4 years.
