What is a cardiac CT Calcium Score?
Coronary artery calcification score (CS) is a useful cardiac test, most often performed in patients with an increased risk of coronary artery disease. The test is performed without contrast.

A referral for the examination from a cardiologist is required.
The patient taking the test must have a cardiac echo result (cardiac ultrasound) performed no earlier than one month before the date of the Calcium Score cardiac CT. In addition, medical records (information sheets from inpatient, outpatient treatment) and results of other cardiac and vascular examinations, if performed, must be provided.
12 hours before the test, the patient should not drink coffee. The issue of medications taken and preparation for the examination should be discussed with the referring physician.
After the examination, the patient remains in the facility for about 15 minutes for observation.
Contraindication to the test is pregnancy.
Waiting time for the result is about 6 working days.
