Coagulation factor IX (anti-hemophilic factor B) is synthesized mainlyóin the liver. It is an essential protein for normal clotting thatós found in blood plasma. Together with factors II, VII and X, it is a group of prothrombin syndrome factors, the synthesis of which requires vitamin K. Deficiencyór of coagulation factor IX is the result of a genetic mutation and causes hemophilia B.
