Product description

The vaccine is intended to prevent dengue fever in people aged 4 years and older, as recommended by the authorities.

What is the vaccine?

The vaccine contains live attenuated (weakened, with reduced pathogenicity) Dengue fever viruses. The vaccine is designed to induce an immune response against the four serotypes of dengue fever virus.

Who is the vaccine for?

Dengue fever vaccination is essential for people who travel to dengue-endemic areas. The vaccine is suitable for people aged 4 to 60 years.

Vaccination requires qualification by a travel medicine specialist.

According to the recommendations of European scientific societies, vaccination is primarily recommended for people who have been exposed to dengue fever before travelling to dengue-endemic regions, in order to prevent subsequent disease with a potentially more severe course.

Travellers who have never had dengue fever should not be routinely vaccinated because of the potential risk of more severe disease if they subsequently become ill. It is advisable to consider vaccination based on the risk of disease associated with the length of stay in a dengue-endemic region.

How many doses of the vaccine?

A single dose of vaccine is available for purchase from this website. Important note! To achieve long-term immunity, 2 doses are required at 3-month intervals.

What are the benefits of the vaccination?

The vaccine prevents severe course of disease and subsequent hospitalisation caused by four serotypes of dengue virus.

Aedes mosquitoes transmit the viruses that cause dengue fever. Symptoms of the classic form of the infection are often similar to those of the flu. In a small number of infected people, the disease becomes severe, causing bleeding and organ damage. The risk of severe disease progression is higher in people who have been infected a second time.
