The test for Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus is a blood allergy test allergy test from the blood. Testing for mite allergy means Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus allergen.

The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed when mite allergy is suspected. The advantage of of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used also for qualifying for desensitization of sensitization to Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus.

It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under the age of 4 years.
