Why is it important to undergo tests on a ketogenic diet?
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat diet that can have many positive effects. Eliminating certain products may lead to deficiencies in vitamins and minerals, making regular testing essential. Performing this test package allows for the detection of potential irregularities. The impact of changing energy sources to ketone bodies for some people on the diet can overload the body and disrupt the function of the heart or kidneys – hence the importance of monitoring levels of, among others, potassium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin D, and fatty acids.
