Phenothiazines are compounds used as neuroleptic drugs, sedatives, antipsychotics, antiemetics, sleeping pills, hypotensive, antihistamines (tisercin, chlorpromazine, tioridazin). After taking a large dose of phenothiazine derivatives dizziness, balance and coordination disorders occur, drowsiness, followed by a state of confusion and coma. In severe poisoning, hypothermia may occur, as well as periodically occurring seizures and pseudo-Parkinsonian symptoms. Damage to parenchymal organs, liver and kidneys in acute poisoning occur sporadically, while they are quite characteristic of chronic poisonings.
