A phoniatrist is a specialist responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses affecting the throat, larynx, tongue and nose, which lead to problems with speech or hearing. A phoniatrist in most often consulted by patients with the following problems:
- chronic hoarseness;
- hearing loss;
- deafness;
- voice loss;
- visible changes on the tongue;
- dyslexia;
- swallowing disorders;
- speech disorders (such as stammering);
- dizziness;
- balance disorders;
- blocked ear sensation;
- otitis;
- tinnitus (ear buzzing.
The consultation appointment lasts 15 minutes.
Patients must arrive not later than 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
