Determination of IgA antibody levels against Helicobacter pylori (IgA) in serum is used in the diagnosis of primary infection of H. pylori. It is concluded that active H. pylori infection can cause the development of gastric and duodenal ulcers, while 1% there is a risk of gastric cancer. Diagnostics of the infection consists primarily in the determination of antibodies of the IgG class IgG class in serum, while simultaneous determination of IgA class allows to reduce the number of false-negative results. Determination of antibodies IgA class is useless for monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.
