Plasminogen activator inhibitor PAI-1
Clinical use
Tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1) - Plasminogen activator tPA is a cysteine protease thatóra converts plasminogen into plasmin thereby increasing fibrinolysis. Excessive tPA activity causes bleeding, while reduced activity promotes thrombosis and embolism. Tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor is one of the parameters thatóy have a decisive influence on the plasma fibrinolysis system. Its determination is performed in individuals with suspected disorders of the coagulation and fibrinolysis processes.
