- About the Product
The Myositis Panel is a set of serological tests aimed at detecting specific antibodies associated with myopathology, including inflammatory muscle diseases such as polymyositis and scleroderma. This test aids in the diagnosis and differentiation of types of myopathies, enabling early recognition and effective treatment.
When to Perform the Test
The test is recommended when a patient's clinical presentation suggests myositis associated with systemic connective tissue diseases, in patients with a diagnosed autoimmune disease, as well as to verify uncertain or weakly positive results obtained in previous testing. It is also recommended for monitoring disease progression in patients undergoing treatment.
Medical Conditions
Polymyositis (PM), dermatomyositis (DM), overlap syndrome, scleroderma (systemic/limited).
Symptoms
The above conditions may be accompanied by symptoms such as progressive muscle weakness, muscle pain, muscle atrophy, walking difficulties, problems with speaking and swallowing, skin symptoms, eyelid swelling, joint pain, and inflammation.
