Anti-Mi-2 antibodies against nuclear helicase - markers of dermatomyositis. The pathology of the disease is unknown. Clinical manifestations include progressive weakness of the muscles, mainly of the shoulder and hip girdle, arms and thighs. Changes of the skin take the form of erythema, the so-called heliotropic erythema (fiotet-shaped eyeglass-shaped erythema around the eyes), erythema of the cleavage and other parts of the body. Less common symptoms include cyanosis marbling, blistering lesions and others. Anti-Mi-2 antibodies are typical of dermatomyositis and are present in about 60% of cases.
