Testing the level of antibodies to Clostridium tetanus bacillus
tetani. Tetanus is an acute disease of the nervous system
caused by a bacterial neurotoxin, characterized by increased
tension and severe contractions of skeletal muscles.
Tetanus infection usually occurs as a result of contamination of
injured skin with soil fertilized with domestic animal feces or
other material containing Clostridium tetani spores.
The test is used to determine immunity
post-vaccination immunity.
