During a natural birth, a duty doctor and midwife will be with you, overseeing your birth and ensuring your safety until you leave the hospital.

Giving Birth at Medicover Hospital

We offer you access to a family room, where you will stay with your newborn and accompanying person for 2 days after the birth. During this time, the baby will be under the care of a neonatologist, receive all necessary vaccinations and tests – such as the newborn hearing screening test.

Package Scope

Consultations:

• Consultations with a midwife and KTG monitoring in the Maternity Ward from the 36th week of pregnancy,
• Consultation with a urogynecological physiotherapist after delivery (in the ward),
• Qualification visit with a neonatologist,
• Qualification visit with an anesthesiologist.

Care and Assistance:

• Care in the Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Pathology and Intensive Care Unit in cases requiring stabilization of the mother's or child's health – 2 days after delivery,
• Comprehensive medical care for mother and child – 2 days after delivery,
• Meeting with a midwife to develop a Birth Plan, outlining the patient’s wishes and preferences regarding the course of labor, the persons assisting during labor, etc.,
• Midwife assistance with daily hygiene, dressing changes, and baby care,
• Newborn care advice during the stay in the ward.

Delivery:

• Natural delivery with on-duty medical staff,
• Non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods of pain relief.

Additionally:

• Stay of the patient with the baby and accompanying person in a family room – 2 days,
• All necessary vaccinations (against tuberculosis and hepatitis B) and baby tests, including hearing screening and metabolic screening tests (test for phenylketonuria, cystic fibrosis, and hypothyroidism),
• Breastfeeding advice during the stay in the ward,
• Follow-up visit with a gynecologist, midwife, and neonatologist at Medicover Hospital within 7-9 days after delivery,
• Ultrasound after the 32nd week of pregnancy,
• Ambulance transport in justified medical cases,
