Molecular testing (Real-Time PCR) characterized by high sensitivity and specificity, detecting the genetic material (DNA) of parasites:

• Dientamoeba fragilis,
• Blastocystis hominis.

Advantages of diagnosing parasitic diseases using the Real-Time PCR method:

• High sensitivity (4 copies of DNA in the tested sample),
• High specificity (certainty of the species identification of the detected parasite),
• Test performed from 3 stool samples,
• Short turnaround time for results (5 business days).

Indications for performing the Real-Time PCR test:

Presence of clinical symptoms indicative of a parasitic disease despite negative stool test results (using microscopic observation methods or immunological methods).

You can also personally deliver the material for testing during the laboratory's working hours (Mon - Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
