Parasites – Protozoan (Cryptosporidium parvum)

The test involves analyzing stool for the presence of Cryptosporidium parvum DNA.

Molecular testing (Real-Time PCR) characterized by high sensitivity and specificity, detecting the genetic material (DNA) of the most commonly found parasites in humans.

Advantages of diagnosing parasitic diseases using the Real-Time PCR method:

• High sensitivity (4 DNA copies in the tested sample)
• High specificity (certainty of the species identification of the detected parasite)
• Test performed from 3 stool samples
• Short turnaround time for results (5 working days)

Indications for performing the Real-Time PCR test:

Presence of clinical symptoms suggesting a parasitic disease despite negative stool test results (using microscopic observation or immunological methods).

A laboratory employee will schedule a visit by our driver at the chosen time.

You can also personally deliver the material for testing during the laboratory's working hours (Mon - Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
