Proteins against Coxsackie A7
Clinical significance
Coxsackie A7 virus belongs to the Enterovirus A species. Enteroviruses have the ability to replicate in the gastrointestinal tract. They are resistant to gastric juice. Coxsackie A7 viruses cause most casesów of non-polio paralysis. Palsies caused by enteroviruses other than polio viruses, including Coxsackie viruses, occur sporadically and are usually milder than polio virus-associated poliomyelitis proper. Serological diagnosis (antibody determination) of infections caused by Coxsackie viruses is limited due to the huge number of serotypesóenterovirusesóand the lack of a common antigen. Serological tests are used primarily for epidemiological studies.
