Phospholipid IgG antibodies
Clinical significance
Antiphospholipid antibodies - antibodies directed against phospholipids on the surface of the ventricles of the blood vessels. The disease is autoimmune in nature and is classified as antiphospholipid syndrome. As a consequence of damage to phospholipidsów and other componentsów of the vascular endothelial cells, the róbalance between the processes of blood clotting and clot fibrinolysis is disrupted. The main symptom of the disease is thrombosis. Miscarriages (ischemia of the placenta), venous thrombosis (mainly of the lower extremity veins), reticular cyanosis of the skin, arthritis, migraines, myocardial infarction and arterial thrombosis primarily affecting the vessels of the móthroat, which can cause a risk of transient myocardial ischemia or myocardial ischemic stroke, may occur.
