Together with other autoantibodies (anti-islet antibodies, anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase antibodies, tyrosine phosphatase antibodies and zinc transporter 8 antibodies) IAAs are used for the diagnosis of rós type I diabetes and LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults).
