Rabies is an incurable zoonotic disease caused by rów strains of virusesów of the genus Lyssavirus. In Poland, there has been no reported case of rabies in humans for several years, while post-bite prophylaxis is carried out, consisting of post-exposure vaccination and wound cleaning. Pre-exposure rabies vaccination is recommended for people traveling to rabies endemic areas, such as India. Determination of antibodies to the rabies virus is applicable in assessing the effectiveness of vaccination.
