Health Screening Package: “Your Health after the COVID-19 Pandemic”
As a result of the pandemic, we have become more concerned about our health, more aware of the need to take care of both ourselves and our loved ones, and more willing to make lifestyle changes.
During the pandemic, it has been particularly difficult to maintain pro-health behaviour, such as engaging in physical activity, sticking to a healthy diet, or undergoing preventive tests and examinations. The pandemic has also resulted in poorer compensation of chronic diseases and the occurrence of various conditions in individuals who had previously been healthy. Side effects of the pandemic have also included gaining excess body mass, experiencing anxiety, developing addictions, and suffering from sleep disorders. After contracting SARS-CoV-2, some patients have observed persistent symptoms that continued for weeks or months, despite their recovery from the acute phase of the disease in terms of laboratory test results. Many people, regardless of whether they have experienced COVID-19 mildly or with more severe symptoms, are concerned that the disease has left traces in their bodies and negatively affected their internal organs, such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, and heart.
Individual immunity, stable health condition and preventive tests and examinations are key in preventing serious diseases.
Thus, it is worth checking the state of your health with the “Your Health after the COVID-19 Pandemic” Health Screening Package.
Who is the screening intended for?
The screening is recommended for everyone who wishes to check their health condition, regardless of whether they have undergone COVID-19 or not. The “Your Health after the COVID-19 Pandemic” Screening Package is aimed at people over the age of 18. The package consist of medical consultations as well as selected tests and examinations, conducted in order to, for instance, assess the functioning of selected organs and detect any inflammatory processes, potential post-COVID-19 complications or asymptomatic infections.
Please note that the Prosta Medical Centre does not perform ultrasound examinations for English-speaking patients.
Make sure to get the screening if you have observed any of the following symptoms:
· chronic fatigue;
· shortness of breath;
· persistent cough;
· elevated or irregular heart beat;
· decreased exercise tolerance;
· reluctance to perform work;
· chest pain;
· muscle and joint pain;
· sleep and mood disorders.
The “Your Health after the COVID-19 Pandemic” Package includes the following diagnostic tests:
Blood tests:
|
Resting ECG,
Chest X-ray PA + lateral,
General urine test,
Temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation measurement
and the following consultations:

What exactly does the Health Screening Package consist of?
Oxygen saturation
In people with dyspnoea and easy fatigue, measuring saturation determines whether the cause is lung disease or disease of another organ.
Blood pressure measurement
During SARS-CoV-2, the virus enters the cell through an enzyme that regulates blood pressure. Its damage after infection may result in abnormal RR levels.
Resting ECG
During SARS-CoV-2, in addition to the lungs, the virus also affects heart cells, because they are easily damaged. An ECG test can detect any suspected myocarditis.
Chest X-ray PA + lateral
Allows detecting post-inflammatory changes in the lungs and pleura that appear after infection.
General urine test
The urinary system is one of the systems that can be damaged by COVID-19.
CBC - analyzer - blood
Complete blood count, including total white blood cell count indicates normal body immunity. Red blood cells are an important part of our well-being and lack of fatigue.
Urea - serum
Determination of serum urea concentration, important mainly in the diagnosis of kidney function. Serum urea concentration depends on the functioning of the body's own (endogenous) proteins and hepatic protein synthesis, as well as the supply of protein in the diet (high or low-protein diet).
Creatinine - serum
Creatinine helps determine the efficiency of the patient's kidneys, even if the patient does not notice any negative symptoms that could indicate a disorder. Testing the serum creatinine level helps determine proper glomerular filtration in the kidneys. Recommended when a patient is suspected of kidney damage due to exposure to various toxins or due to medications.
Alanine aminotransferase - ALT (GPT)
The ALT test uses a blood sample. Its purpose is to determine the level of alanine aminotransferase, which is a liver enzyme. An increase in the activity of alanine aminotransferase indicates damage to the liver cells. Aminotransferases are found in the liver, heart, and skeletal muscles. Elevated serum levels of transaminases indicate damage to hepatocytes or myocytes.
Aspartate aminotransferase - AST (GOT)
AST, or aspartate aminotransferase, is a liver test for enzymes found mainly in the liver and muscles. They should normally exist inside cells, therefore an increase in their concentration in the blood indicates cell damage (e.g. liver). AST concentration is used to diagnose and monitor liver diseases.
Potassium - serum
Potassium is an electrolyte that is responsible for the proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. It stimulates the secretion of insulin. It also controls the water-electrolyte and acid-base balance and regulates the activity of some enzymes. Both the deficiency and excess of potassium negatively affect the body. Too high concentration of this element is a threat in the case of malfunctioning kidneys. In healthy people, the kidneys eliminate potassium, so the excess element is excreted in the urine. In kidney disease, too much potassium can lead to muscle weakness, heart palpitations and even life-threatening arrhythmias.
Acute phase protein - CRP - quantified
The CRP (C-reactive protein) test is performed during the diagnostic process of an infection. A doctor may order it if he suspects, for example, a parasitic, fungal, bacterial or viral infection. The amount of protein concentration is related to the source of the infection and its intensity.
Quantitative D-dimers (plasma)
Determination of serum D-dimer, performed in suspected increased coagulation and fibrinolysis processes, useful in the diagnosis of coagulation disorders: venous and arterial thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome and differentiation of hyperfibrinolysis.
Fasting iron
Serum - iron plays a key role in the human body. It is responsible for the proper functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, immune and nervous systems. It is part of haemoglobin, which carries oxygen through the body. Iron plays an important role in the nervous system, where it affects cognitive functions, as well as the body's efficiency during exercise.
PLEASE NOTE! For all of you who have experienced a severe case of COVID-19 or have suffered from heart disease in the past, and who are still bothered by post‑COVID-19 ailments which limit your functioning or are even more severe than during the disease, we recommend the “Your Heart after COVID-19” Health Screening Package.
PLEASE NOTE! For all of you who have suffered from COVID-19 and are experiencing difficulties in their day-to-day functioning, at home and/or at work, due to complications related to, among others, memory and concentration problems (e.g. temporarily forgetting words, numbers and other information) or are concerned that untreated brain fog can lead to brain damage, we recommend the “Brain fog after COVID-19” Health Screening Package.
The role of standards in the post‑pandemic healthcare supply chain
COVID-19 has imposed a huge burden on healthcare systems around the world. However, in response to restrictions that prevented in-person consultations with doctors, telemedicine – by means of video calls and remote monitoring – has come to the fore.

You can also take advantage of our offer of post COVID-19 antibody tests. Click here.
IgG antibodies are referred to as antibodies of the late stage of infection. The presence of only IgG antibodies indicates that the infection occurred earlier than a few weeks ago. Antibody testing is especially recommended to identify asymptomatic and poorly symptomatic people with COVID-19 infection, or when the patient has had symptoms of a respiratory tract infection but has not tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Tests for antibodies help identify those who have had and recovered from the disease and who can potentially donate plasma to help other sick people.
