Dental hygienisation: why is it important?
Taking care of a healthy and beautiful smile means more than simply brushing your teeth every day. It also involves regular visits to the dentist’s office. Teeth hygienisation is a procedure which supplements the process of proper dental prophylaxis and oral hygiene. Performed once or twice a year, it helps to reduce the risk of developing caries and periodontal inflammation.
Teeth tartar as well as bacterial and unaesthetic surface plaque – all of these build up on teeth. Daily brushing and flossing is not enough to remove them. The scaling and sandblasting procedures will help to resolve that issue, while fluoridation will protect tooth enamel against caries.

Stages of the teeth hygienisation 4in1 procedure:

Teeth scaling: how does it work? This is a procedure which involves cleaning the surface of teeth of accumulated tartar (i.e. hard deposits – mineralised plaque), which we are unable to fully remove at home with daily oral hygiene routines. Tartar forms as a result of mineralisation and hardening of bacterial plaque. Its presence can be minimised by frequent tooth brushing and flossing of interdental spaces, but undergoing a professional oral hygiene procedure at the dentist’s office is recommended at least once every 6 months. Teeth tartar is removed using special tool – a scaler that generates ultrasounds, which break down hard deposits and remove them from the surface of teeth. |

Teeth sandblasting: how does it work?It is a procedure beneficial in terms of both health and aesthetics. Thanks to the small particles of the preparation (erythritol, sodium bicarbonate, glycine) applied under pressure, spaces and areas inaccessible during scaling can be cleaned of brown deposits. |

Tooth Polishing - What Does It Involve?Tooth polishing involves smoothing the surface of the teeth using specialized tools and polishing pastes. As a result, teeth become less prone to plaque buildup and the development of cavities. Additionally, this procedure restores the natural shine of the teeth, leaving them with a pleasant feeling of smoothness. |

Teeth fluoridation: how does it work? The final stage of a comprehensive hygienisation procedure is fluoridation, which is aimed at protecting the surface of teeth against harmful factors and strengthening of the tooth enamel. Fluoridation results in teeth being more resistant to acids and bacteria, thus reducing the risk of the formation of caries. In addition, the action of fluorine enables the reduction of dentinal hypersensitivity. The fluoridation procedure involves applying a special preparation in the form of a foam (gel, mousse) to the surface of teeth. This product contains a large amount of fluorine, which penetrates the tooth enamel and strengthens it as a result. It is always a doctor who decides whether the treatment is necessary for a given patient. Properly performed hygienisation procedures should precede the dental treatment phase. This particular order ensures the highest efficiency and provides satisfactory results. |
