How often to vaccinate against influenza?
Seasonal flu vaccination should be repeated every year, preferably before the start of the infectious season. Each year the composition of the vaccine is changed and corresponds to the forecasts of experts, who try to predict what type of influenza virus will be common in a given season.
Don't wait to get sick. Get vaccinated and protect yourself from the flu.
The service is dedicated to patients of legal age, and includes 1 dose of vaccine along with qualification for vaccination at the internist's office or nurse and the execution of the vaccination. Immunity is achieved approximately 2- 3 weeks after vaccination. The vaccination cycle includes 1 dose and this is sufficient to achieve immunity against influenza.
Vaccination is recommended especially in autumn before the period of increased influenza cases, but vaccination can be done until spring - because it is until then that there is an increased risk of disease.
If the doctor does not qualify you for vaccination, you should make another qualifying appointment, on the date indicated by the doctor. Another qualifying visit for vaccination is charged extra.

Headache, dry cough, fever, joint and muscle complaints and malaise are the most common symptoms of influenza. Children, the elderly, the chronically ill and people with weakened immunity are most at risk of contracting the flu virus. Vaccination is also recommended for pregnant women. Not only does it help reduce the risk of the mother-to-be getting sick, but it also reduces the risk of illness in the newborn child. |
