Surdological therapy is aimed at children and adolescents with hearing impairment. The most important thing is to start surdological therapy as soon as hearing impairment is diagnosed. Surdological therapy helps the patient develop language skills and recognise ambient sounds and speech sounds.

Surdological therapy includes:

  • enriching passive and active vocabulary,
  • compensation of impaired hearing functions,
  • breathing exercises,
  • articulation exercises,
  • voice exercises,
  • hearing exercises.

Objectives of surdological therapy for children and adolescents:

  • teaching children with hearing impairments to communicate freely with others,
  • developing speech in phonetic, lexical and grammatical terms,
  • eliminating behaviours interfering with communication and ensuring comprehensive and integrated psychomotor development,
  • improving clarity of expression.
