Tik’Alert® is a specific, rapid immunodiagnostic test for detecting IgM-class antibodies against Borrelia. Using the Tik’Alert® test enables the detection of early Borrelia infection six weeks after a tick bite.
The test is performed using a blood sample to detect IgM-class antibodies, which are the first to appear. Early infection detection allows for prompt antibiotic treatment. The test should be taken after a tick bite if early Lyme disease symptoms (flu-like symptoms) occur or as a preventive measure after tick season, as most tick bites go unnoticed.
