The timothy test is a blood allergy test. The test
for timothy allergy means Phleum allergen. The test consists of
determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed in the case of a
suspected allergy to timothy.
The advantage of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines
antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used
also for qualification for desensitization of timothy allergy.
It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children
under the age of 4 years.
