UROGENITAL 6 - Panel for the identification of 6 urogenital pathogens.
Tested pathogens:
- Treponema pallidum (syphilis)
- Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV 1/2)
- Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
- Haemophilus ducreyi (chancroid)
- Chlamydia trachomatis serotypes L1, L2, L3 (Lymphogranuloma venereum)
- Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV)
Purpose of the test: The test aims to identify pathogens that may cause vesicular lesions/ulcers on the external genital organs.
When to perform the test?
- Prophylactically, to exclude asymptomatic infection with the tested pathogens.
- In the presence of vesicular/ulcerative lesions around the external genital organs or when there are skin lesions of unknown origin elsewhere on the body.
- If the above symptoms are present in a partner.
Method: Real-Time PCR
Sample material:
- For women: Vaginal/vulvar/perianal swab or urine.
- For men: Penile/preputial/coronal sulcus/perianal swab or urine.
