When to take the UroGin test?
Doing a UroGin test is recommended:
- in chronic and recurrent inflammation of the genital tract against an infectious background, especially when the methods of classical microbiology do not give satisfactory answers;
- in women observing spotting or bleeding between periods;
- in pregnant women because of the risk of pregnancy complications (preterm labor);
- in women planning to become pregnant due to the prevention of complications of early pregnancy (miscarriage) or in the diagnosis of infertility;
- in men with symptoms of itching, redness or swelling of the urethra, glans or foreskin;
- partners of individuals diagnosed with a genitourinary tract infection;
What the test consists of;
In women, the test involves a gynecologist or midwife taking a swab from the vagina, cervix, urethra or vesicles (ulcers) - if present. The collected material is placed in a tube with buffer and sent to the laboratory.
For men, the place where the swab is taken for testing depends on the type of test chosen. The most common place to collect the material for testing is the urethra or the genital groove. For HSV I / II testing, a swab should be taken from the vesicles or ulcers. For testing for Candida albicans, a mastoid swab is taken from under the foreskin.
The swab is taken with a brush included in the collection kit. The kit comes with detailed instructions for taking the material for the test. It is recommended that a man not wash his genitals for 24 hours and not have intercourse for 48 hours prior to taking the sample for testing.
The test kit is also provided with detailed instructions
Recommend that the material be collected in doctors' offices by qualified persons.
Quality of our tests
Thanks to the use of Real Time PCR (Real Time PCR) technology, the UroGin test provides very good sensitivity and reliability of the results obtained, much higher than in the case of tests by classical methods.
