Urologists consult patients with diseases of the urogenital system in men and urinary tract in women (problems with kidneys, the prostate gland, testicles, the bladder, and phimosis).

During the consultation, a urologist:

takes the patient’s history and performs a urological examination;
makes diagnoses;
provides medical recommendations
prescribes drugs
issues referrals for tests and examinations, consultations and hospital treatments
issues sick leaves.

During the appointment, a urologist may also remove sutures and apply a dressing.
