Abdominal ultrasound requires preparation in the form of:
• refrain from meals and drinking fluids except non-carbonated water for 4-5 hours before the examination.
maintaining a full urinary bladder
• refrain from smoking on the day of the examination.
• avoiding eating bloating foods and drinking carbonated drinks on the day before and on the day of the examination.
• in people with a tendency to flatulence, it is recommended to use Espumisan the day before the examination

The study allows for the assessment of the so-called parenchymal organs: liver with gallbladder and bile ducts, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, large vessels of the abdominal cavity. Assessment of the urinary bladder (and prostate in men) is possible provided it is sufficiently filled.
