Clinical significance
Coagulation factor XII (Hageman's factor) is synthesized in the liver. The activating enzyme of factor XII is calicrein, much weaker are active factor XI, plasmin and trypsin. Deficiencyór of this factor does not cause hemorrhagic diathesis even during extensive surgery and does not require treatment.
