EPX is an indicator for diagnosing and assessing inflammatory reactions in the intestine. A slight increase in EPX in the stool suggests a latent state of irritation by antigens (food components, bacteria, viruses, fungi). A significant increase in eosinophilic protein X, which reflects intensified immune reactions, suggests the presence of intestinal parasites. Elevated EPX levels indicate allergies and food hypersensitivity of the IgG type.
