Intestinal microbiota testing allows precise quantification of bacteria: both pathogenic and those essential for the proper functioning of the body. Due to the numerous interactions of microbiota with host health, assessing its composition appears to be a crucial diagnostic tool for identifying the causes of many diseases. Based on this knowledge, appropriate treatment is implemented in the form of probiotic and prebiotic therapy, which is an extremely important element in the prevention of diseases associated with intestinal dysbiosis. The study assesses: presence of intestinal bacteria, protective gut microbiota, immune-stimulating microbiota, proteolytic microbiota responsible for putrefactive processes, potentially pathogenic bacteria, other parameters: pH and stool consistency, yeast-like fungi (including from the Candida genus), mold fungi. Indicator microorganisms tested in the study: anaerobes from the Bacteroides and Bifidobacterium genera, bacteria from the Enterococcus genus, Escherichia coli rods, potentially pathological form of E. coli – so-called biovare form, anaerobic bacilli from the Clostridium genus, lactic acid bacteria from the Lactobacillus genus, including those producing hydrogen peroxide, rods from the Enterobacteriaceae family – Proteus spp, Providencia spp., Morganella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Citrobacter spp., Serratia spp., Hafnia alvei, non-fermenting rods from the Pseudomonas genus, other individual bacteria for the patient, yeast-like fungi (including from the Candida genus), mold fungi.
