THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the mainópsychoactive substance found in marijuana. Marijuana is a dried plant extracted from the flowersóof plants in the genus cannabis. It is most commonly used by smoking it, but it can also be incorporated into food products such as cookies. THC has euphoric effects and causes moderate perceptual disturbances. Of the side effects, there may be increased cravings, dry mouth, conjunctival congestionós, impaired time perception, impaired concentration and increased heart rate – however, they are short-lived. The effects usually subside a few hours after taking THC.
