The poppy test is an allergy test from the blood. The test for
poppy allergy means the allergen Papaver.
The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is
performed when an allergy to poppy is suspected.
The advantage of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines
antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used
also for qualifying for poppy allergy desensitization. It is recommended
also for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under 4
years of age.
