- Test description
Anti-cytoplasmic granulocyte antibodies ANCA are autoantibodies mainly of the IgG class that react with components of granules found on granulocytes. ANCAs are present in many diseases immunological diseases, such as Wegener's granulomatosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and can also occur in healthy individuals. Of importance from a clinically important are ANCAs directed against 2 specific antigens: proteinase 3 (PR3) and myeloperoxidase (MPO). PR3 - ANCAs are important in the diagnosis of granulomatosis with inflammatory Vasculitis (Wegener's) and are present in 80 - 90% of patients. PR3 - ANCA are also found in the course of microscopic vasculitis (in 15 - 45% of patients) and vasculitis confined to the kidneys (25 - 36%) MPO - ANCA are detected in microscopic vasculitis (in 45 - 80% of patients patients), vasculitis confined to the kidney (40 - 65%), and also in a small percentage in Wegener's granulomatosis (5 - 15%), drug-induced immune reactions drug-induced immune reactions, and in Goodpasture's syndrome Goodpasture's syndrome.
