Our body is designed to be active, so with the aim of keeping the body as fit as possible, regardless of age, we have prepared physiotherapy reviews tailored to your current physical form and your goals. The human body is a complex "machine" and, like any machine, requires regular "reviews."
This package is for you if:
you are physically active, running, swimming or cycling several times a week, at the same time you like to make an effort and test yourself against other people.
And your goal is:
maintaining your current level of activity while improving your physical capabilities.
What does a physiotherapy review consist of?
First: a detailed interview: we will start with a conversation and ask a series of questions that will allow us to better understand your health, lifestyle, physical activity.
We will perform a series of tests to determine:
- range of motion and flexibility of leg muscles;
- range of motion and flexibility of arm muscles;
- range of rotation in the back and abdomen;
- flexibility of the hip extensors;
- the uprightness of the thoracic segment while sitting;
- rotation ability in the thoracic spine;
- range of motion of the head in all directions;
- Wall test, which is a test to assess the used range in the ankle joint;
FMS, which assesses basic movement patterns, such as squat, push-up and active leg extension, among others. The test consists of 7 simple exercises, the performance of which is evaluated on a scale of 0 to 3 points.
Assessment of the ability to maintain balance on a specialized platform or testing the symmetry of body work on a dynamometer platform - depending on the specific sport.
Additional tests tailored to your age and fitness, such as one-legged squat, toe climb test, full hip extension test, among others.
Objective assessment of muscle strength and endurance.
Leg or arm power tests.
An additional training session, during which we will work on the ideal technique for performing the recommended exercises.
After all the tests have been performed, the physiotherapist will discuss the results with you and make individual recommendations. He will point out the elements you should work on and together with you will prepare an action plan tailored to your abilities and needs. These may include exercises to be performed on your own at home or under the guidance of a qualified personal trainer. In some cases, rehabilitation may be necessary.
How to prepare.
Bring comfortable clothing, preferably athletic, and shoes to change into.
As a preventive measure, we recommend having a physiotherapy review once a year. This way you'll know on an ongoing basis whether your past activities are producing objective results, and, acting on recommendations and a jointly developed plan, you'll see if everything is moving toward your goal. This can allow you to improve your physical fitness, make your life more comfortable and reduce the risk of injury.
