Description

Our body is designed to be active, so with the aim of keeping your body as fit as possible, regardless of your age, we have prepared physiotherapy check-ups tailored to your current physical form and your goals. The human body is a complex 'machine' and, like any machine, requires regular 'check-ups'.

This package is for you, if:

  • you are physically active, running, swimming or cycling at least three to four times a week, and you enjoy making an effort and competing against other people;
  • you are a professional athlete.

And your goal is:

to maintain your current level of activity while improving your physical capabilities.

What does a physiotherapy check-up include?

  • First: a detailed interview: we will start by talking to you and asking you a series of questions that will give us a better understanding of your health, lifestyle, physical activity.
  • We will perform a series of tests to determine:
    • range of movement and flexibility of leg muscles;
    • range of movement and flexibility of hand muscles;
    • range of rotation on the back and abdomen;
    • flexibility of the buttocks;
    • thoracic extension while sitting;
    • rotation capacity in the thoracic spine section;
    • range of head movement in all directions;
    • wall test, which is  an examination to assess the used range in the ankle joint;
  • FMS, which is an assessment of basic movement patterns including, but not limited to the squat, push-up or active leg extension. The test consists of 7 simple exercises, which are scored on a scale of 0 to 3 points.
  • Assessing the ability to maintain balance on a special platform.
  • Additional tests tailored to your age and fitness including, but not limited to the single-leg squat, toe climb test and full hip extension test.
  • Objective assessment of muscle strength and endurance.
  • Leg or arm power tests.
  • Two additional training sessions during which we will work on the ideal technique for the prescribed exercises.
  • Detailed analysis of training to date.

Once all the tests have been performed, the physiotherapist will discuss the results with you and prepare individual recommendations. He or she will indicate the elements you need to work on and, together with you, prepare an action plan tailored to your capabilities and needs. These can be exercises to do on your own at home or under the guidance of a qualified personal trainer. In some cases, rehabilitation may be necessary.

How long will the examination take? It will all take you about 180 minutes. The two additional training sessions are another two times 60 minutes of work.

How to prepare?

Bring comfortable clothing, preferably sportswear, and shoes to change.

As a preventive measure, we recommend performing the physiotherapy check-up once a year. In this way, you will know on an ongoing basis whether your activities to date are producing objective results and, acting on recommendations and a jointly developed plan, you will check that everything is moving towards the goal you have set. This can allow you to improve your physical fitness, increase your wellbeing and reduce the risk of injury.
