Proteins for liver-pancreas antigen. SLA/LP
Clinical significance
Soluble hepatopancreatic antigen antibodies (SLA/LP) - antibodies associated with autoimmune hepatitis type I (AIH type I). This is a chronic disease that leads to the destruction of liver cellsóre and eventually to cirrhosis. In AIH type I, SLA/LP praz ANA and ASMA antibodies are present, while in type II, anti-LKM1 and anti-LC1 antibodies are detected. Determination of autoantibodies is important in the diagnosis and in the ródifferentiation of AIH types I and II and viral hepatitis and monitoring of treatment.
