The L-S section of the spine is an area of our body that we complain about pain very often. The causes can range from a sedentary lifestyle, to injuries, to poor workout habits. Due to the structure of the spine, dysfunctions in this area can manifest themselves as complaints in distant parts of the body (such as thigh or knee pain).
Indications for examination:
- Pain and decreased mobility of the spine
- Numbness, pain and dysfunction of the lower extremities and back
- Degenerative changes
- Multiple sclerosis
- Pathologies of the spinal cord
- Vascular (ischemic) lesions
- Suspected neoplasm
Contraindications to the study:
- Implanted electrical devices (defibrillator, pacemaker, neurostimulator, etc.).
- Metal bodies in soft tissues or metal fragments in the vicinity of vessels, parenchymal organs, eyeballs
The test is not recommended for women in the first trimester of pregnancy. Claustrophobia may also be a contraindication to the test.
