sIgA is an immunoglobulin produced by the mucosal cells of the entire body. It is the first line of defense against all pathogens. By binding to them, it actively participates in eliminating microorganisms that enter through mucous membranes. Low values indicate reduced immunity, while high values may indicate an ongoing inflammatory process and increased immune activity. The test is recommended for people with a lack of resistance to infections, allergy sufferers, inflammatory skin conditions, recurrent bacterial and fungal infections.
