Posture defect therapy is work with a physiotherapist involving properly selected exercises and techniques. It aims to stop the worsening of the defect and improve posture.
The therapy is designed for both children and adults. The specialist adapts its form to the age of the patient and the type of abnormality diagnosed.
Postural defects include:
- round back,
- concave back,
- lateral curvature of the spine,
- flat feet,
- valgus knees/feet,
- knees/feet that are bowed.
It is worth remembering that initially postural defects do not cause pain - these only appear as the defect progresses. That is why it is worth taking care of its correction as early as possible.
The appointment includes manual therapy and corrective exercises. The physiotherapist uses musculo-fascial relaxation techniques, correction, self-correction and stabilization exercises. The PNF method and the FITS method are also used.
