What is the CINtec® Plus test along with LBC cytology?
The test is used to detect cancerous lesions caused by high-oncogenic human papillomavirus in the early stages of cancer development. The thin-layer cytology test involves the collection of epithelial cells of the cervix during a gynecological examination using a special brush, and then transporting the prbs into a container with a special liquid medium. Thanks to the use of this possibility of storing biological material, it is much less often necessary to repeat the collection of cellsrecords. Subsequently, the epithelial cells obtained in this wayr are subjected to microscopic histopathological evaluation. As a result of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, the cell cyclerk is disrupted. In the laboratory, the collected material undergoes a special procedure, whichra relies on appropriate staining of the cellsrecords. Thanks to this, two biomarkers, p16 and Ki-67, are detected, which makes it possible to localize the cells that do not divide in a normal mannerb.
Who should have the CINtec® PLUS test with LBC cytology?
Single-layer cytology should be performed regularly by women whove already started sexual intercourse or after the age of 25.
The CINtec® PLUS test is intended for patients whor who:
- gynecologic cytology showed ASCUS, LSIL lesions
- with a normal cytology result, a positive test result for HPV was obtained
- no definite diagnosis can be made by cytology
Testing should be ordered for clinical indications on the basis of a physician's referral.
Conducting CINtec® PLUS testing with LBC cytology allows for a more complete interpretation of the results.
Benefits of performing CINtec® PLUS testing with LBC cytology
- enables evaluation of the cellsrek at a very early stage of cancerous lesions
- less invasive and painless examination
- possibility to perform a package of twos examinations from one collection
- increased diagnostic capabilities
- minimization of abnormal or undiagnostic results
- saving time and cost– no need to repeat cytology
- reducing the likelihood of needing a colposcopic examination
Interpretation oftest results should be conducted by the physician based on the patient's clinical condition, therapies used, and diagnostic test results.
