Methods used when working with scars:
- IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation) – tool-based therapy (tools for working with soft tissue);
- pinotherapy (pins, angles);
- Kinesio taping (application on the scars);
- scar mobilization;
- dry needling (medical acupuncture).
Therapy for scars should be started as early as possible, i.e. from the first days after the injury or surgery. It is important to follow several rules, especially in case of fresh scars: regenerative processes should not be disturbed so that the healing time is not prolonged. Therefore, at the initial stage, the therapy involves the tissues adjacent to the scar, while working with the scar itself is possible after the wound has healed (3-4 weeks).
Duration of treatment (depending on the method used): 30-45 minutes.
