- Test description
Tryptase - a proteinase released from the granules of mast cellsw when they are activated. Mast cells (mast cellsrs) are cors produced by the marrow, maturing in tissues. In their structure they contain granules with substances such as histamine, heparin, tryptase and chymase, cathepsin G and many others.
Mastocytes, along with macrophagess, dendritic cellss and neutrophils, belong to the body's innate immunity; in acquired immunity they act as immunoregulators. As a result of degranulation of mast cellsin e blood, tryptase appears. An increase in concentration accompanies anaphylactic reaction, tryptase is released along with histamine in the early phase of the reaction.
Determination useful in the diagnosis of acute anaphylactic reaction, to confirm or exclude the process. The test in such a case should be performed within 30 minutes to 4 hours after the onset of symptomsw.
Tryptase
Tryptase is also determined in the diagnosis of mastocytosis, a disease characterized by the proliferation and accumulation of abnormal mast cellsmainly in the bone marrow, non-communicating in the skinriver, lymph nodes and gastrointestinal tract.
The test result will be available within 14 working days
