Ankle joint ultrasonography - Rehasport
The ankle joint examination is performed using an ultrasound scanner. Ultrasonography allows for a diagnosis and assessment of birth defects, degenerative and overload changes as well as inflammation in the joint. It is an examination in which a doctor applies a gel-covered transducer to the patient’s ankle joint and uses it to scan particular anatomical structures. It is a non-invasive and painless examination. The indication for conducting the examination is acute or chronic pain, joint motor disorders, ganglion cysts or tumours. An important element of the examination is the dynamic assessment, during which the ligament and tendon motion is evaluated. After the examination, the doctor develops an impression, attaches the image and gives it to the patient.
