Thrombosis  is a one of the more common cardiovascular diseases. It involves the the formation of clots in the blood vessels that block the blood flow. When this happens, the patient may develop  stroke brain, stimulus pulmonary be collapse. Venous thrombosis symptoms

Venous thrombosis:

• significant swelling of the leg continuous after rest (usually affecting only one leg),
• pain and a feeling of tension or stretching in the swollen leg occurring while walking,
• changes in the color of the skin to a reddish color,
• swollen subcutaneous veins,

Arterial thrombosis:

• pain and feeling of tightness in the chest,
• spiration,
• coughing,
• pain on walking,
• disorders of vision,
• dizziness and even disturbance of consciousness,

Thrombosis: causes

Thrombosis develops due to certain factors, including:

• prolonged immobilisation (e.g. hospital stay, serious illness),
• orthopaedic surgery,
• taking certain hormonal drugs,
• obesity,
• smoking.

Sometimes the cause of thrombosis are genetically determined deficiencies of certain proteins (protein S, C, antithrombin), causing a predisposition to excessive blood clotting.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Tests for thrombosis are performed during a single visit to a selected Medicover Centre.
• You have 3 months(from the date indicated in the order confirmation) to undergo the tests in the package.
• You can perform the tests at a Medicover Centre of your choice in all major Polish cities: Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków, Katowice, Poznań, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, Lublin, and Łódź.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TESTS?

Blood tests

• The day before your blood tests limit physical activity, eat light meals, and do not drink alcohol.
• On the day of the test you should be fasting, i.e. do not eat or drink anything for 12 hours before blood collection.
• If you need to take medicine or if you’re very thirsty, you can drink a glass of still mineral water.
