Manual therapy is a method used to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, primarily arthritis and spinal disorders.
Indications for therapy are:
- pain syndromes of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine;
- pains associated with spinal overload;
- neck strains;
- disc prolapse;
- postural defects;
- discopathy;
- neuralgia;
- migraine pains;
- numbness in the arms and legs;
- conditions after injuries.
In manual therapy, the physiotherapist uses various types of grasps and compressions to stimulate muscles and joints. The most commonly used techniques are: massage, stretching, joint manipulation and mobilization, neuromobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and trigger point therapy.
